Sociology Positions in Health Disparities

University of California Merced is recruiting professors (at any rank) as part of a cluster hire in the area of Human Health Sciences. We seek candidates whose work falls under one of three interdisciplinary themes. The first theme, Developmental Science: Health and Disease, seeks faculty with expertise in the study of developmental processes and life course analyses of health and disease. The second theme, Environmental Factors in Health and Health Disparities, seeks faculty with expertise in the study of heath disparities across race, gender, sexuality, and class as caused by social, structural, and ecological environments. The final theme, Emerging Tools in Health Science: Diagnostics and Therapeutics, seeks faculty with expertise in innovative tools and interventions for disease prevention, diagnosis, and treatment. Successful candidates will join an interdisciplinary team of health scientists and contribute to the PhD tracks in relevant disciplines (e.g. Sociology). We are interested in applicants committed to mentoring and teaching students from underrepresented groups.
