Yesterday the UCM sociology undergraduate program was accepted as a chapter in the Alpha Kappa Delta (AKD) national sociology honors society under the chapter name: Alpha Psi of California.
Alpha Kappa Delta seeks to acknowledge and promote excellence in scholarship in the study of sociology, the research of social problems, and such other social and intellectual activities as will lead to improvement in the human condition.
AKD chapters are important in the academic, professional, and social lives of student and faculty members. They provide opportunities for initiating and sharing activities in keeping with the purposes of the Society.
