Carmen Salazar is a Latinx first-generation college student from Los Angeles. She completed a BA in sociology and a minor in psychology from UC Merced in 2019. Salazar is currently a second year doctoral student working on her thesis. Her current research focuses on gentrification, more specifically, she explores the association between the racial composition and the physical changes experienced within.
