Professor Golash-Boza publishes book on deportations with New York University Press

December 11, 2015

Tanya Golash-Boza’s book Deported: Immigrant Policing, Disposable Labor, and Global Capitalism was released on December 11, 2015 from New York University Press. Deported is a timely, provocative, and insightful book about mass deportation, an issue of tremendous contemporary public importance. Deported deeply engages with ideas of global capitalism while also maintaining a critical race and feminist perspective. Deported advances our understanding of mass deportation by bringing an analysis of the political economy of migration and systemic racism of immigration policy enforcement to the forefront. The writing is moving and the narratives provide profound insight to the issues at hand. Deported shows us the underbelly of global capitalism and global apartheid and renders it clear that this system of mass injustice is unsustainable.
