Sociology Grad Student Wins Pacific Sociological Association's Distinguished Paper Award

UC Merced Sociology graduate student Hyunsu Oh has been notified that he will be the recipient of the 2017 Pacific Sociological Association’s Distinguished Graduate Student Paper Award for his paper, “Immigration Pathway and Life Satisfaction.” The Award will be presented at the Pacific Sociological Association's 80th Annual Meeting in Portland in April. The Pacific Sociological Association (PSA) was established by West Coast Sociologists in 1929.  The PSA is the oldest regional sociological association in the United States, and one of the largest, with nearly 1,000 members. Hyunsu's faculty advisor is Dr. Sharla Alegria, an assistant professor in the Sociology Program at UCM.
