Andrew comes from the midwestern United States and have spent time in California's Central Valley. As a student in the community college system, he learned about the importance of institutional navigation through the proximity with which it put me in proximity to a range of mentors and people familiar with navigating higher education.

He studies sociology of higher education, focusing on institutional agency and economic structures that can impact first generation students and other historically neglected student populations. Currently looking into California Community Colleges financing, development, and outcomes of College Promise Programs for first generation students. He has also begun to examine predatory debt collection practices by California colleges seeking to reclaim Title IV funds from students.
