Bio:
Marissa, originally from Hanford, CA, is pursuing her Ph.D. in Sociology with a focus on housing issues experienced across the San Joquin Central Valley. After growing up in a low-income, Latinx community, Marissa was drawn to Sociology due to its emphasis on structural forces which influence the lives of her family and her community.
Marissa recently received her AA in Sociology from College of the Sequoias and her BA in Sociology (with a minor in Criminology) from California State University, Fresno.
