Sociology graduate student Marcus Shaw has published an article in the latest issue of Sociology Compass titled, "The racial implications of the effects of parental incarceration on intergenerational mobility." In this publication, Marcus examines the current state of the literature regarding parental incarceration. HIs review documents the effects of parental incarceration on children and provides avenues for researchers to study the collateral consequences of mass incarceration.
