New publication on experiences of deportees in the Dominican Republic

October 26, 2017

Professor Tanya Golash-Boza and Graduate Student Yajaira Ceciliano published a chapter in the book After Deportation: Ethnographic Perspectives edited by Khosravi Shahram and published by Springer (2017). This chapter analyses the experiences of isolation, precarity, and resilience of Dominican deportees. They argue that the ability of Dominican deportees to re-integrate is in part due to their capacity to access the limited labor market opportunities, as well as through remittances from family members in the USA.
