Professor Pirtle Is Keynote Speaker At West Hills Community College Black History Month Event

Professor Whitney Pirtle was invited to be the keynote speaker at a Black History Month Event held at West Hills Community College, Firebaugh Campus. The title of her talk was “Lift Every Voice and Act.” It was a wonderfully attended event that included song, the keynote, a panel with Q&A, plus homecooked Southern food! Professor Pirtle was invited by event organizer Rodolfo Rodriguez, a UC Merced alumni who earned his Master's in Sociology. Rodolfo is a tenure-track professor at West Hills Community College and was spoken of very highly by all attendees. Congratulations to Rodolfo, he is representing UC Merced Sociology very well!
