Sociology Law & Society Class "People's Choice" Podcast Winner Announced

May 18, 2021

For the Sociology Department's Law & Society class podcast project (based on this template), student teams researched an issue relevant to contemporary law and society in the United States. They developed collective expertise in a specific topic within one area of legal governance: legislative, executive, or judicial. Together, they collaborated to contextualize the issue for their audience, identify the key players and power dynamics, describe the elements of law & society illuminated by the topic, and tell a memorable, accessible sociological story.

After all 12 teams presented their final podcasts, everyone cast their vote for the "People's Choice Award."

Congratulations to Uriel Contreras Jimenez, Paris Grier, Catherine Gutierrez, Jose Lopez, and Keanu Velasquez for their award-winning podcast on the Civil Rights Act of 1964!
