Patience Ferriera, a graduating senior in sociology from Bakersfield, California, was one of thirteen UC Merced students honored by the School of Social Sciences, Humanities and Arts for their outstanding undergraduate careers. Recognized at a May 15 reception at Vista Ranch, Ferriera was celebrated for her research on gender and career aspirations, her leadership of military medical teams, and her mentorship of youth in civic life. Each honoree, including Ferriera, is graduating with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5.
